TrueReplace - Privacy Policy

What TrueReplace accesses

To do its one job: find and replace text in editable fields, TrueReplace reads the text in a field only at the moment you run a replacement, and writes the replaced text back into that same field. That's it. It does not read pages you aren't actively using it on, and it does not watch you type.

What TrueReplace does NOT do

• It does not send any data off your device. There is no server to send it to.
• It does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry.
• It does not collect personal information, browsing history, or the contents of the pages you visit.
• It does not sell, share, or transfer data to anyone, because it never collects any.
• It does not show ads and does not require an account or sign-in.

Permissions

TrueReplace requests the minimum permissions needed to function:

• Storage - used only to remember your preferences (and, in future versions, saved find/replace sets) on your own device, using your browser's local storage. This information never leaves your computer.
• Access to web pages - needed so the find-and-replace can run inside text fields on the page you're working on. This access is used solely to perform the replacement you request, and for nothing else.

Data storage & retention

Any settings TrueReplace saves are stored locally by your browser on your device. You can clear them at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage in your browser. Nothing is retained by us, because nothing is ever sent to us.

Third parties

TrueReplace does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or trackers. No data is shared with any third party.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
